We recently mentioned Dr. Brandy’s love of Dermal Infusion with the MicroDermal Roller on our Facebook page. Many of our Facebook fans wanted to know more about the device―so, we are happy to cover this collagen-building treatment (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) in more detail, as promised.
The MicroDermal Roller is a hand-held device with over 200 very fine bristles or needles. This gadget is designed for home use. By gently rolling it over your face, the bristles creates microscopic channels in the skin, allowing for increased absorption of your favorite topical serums, lotions and prescription-grade Retin-A.
Two Treatments in One
With Dermal Infusion Therapy, you get two equally impressive treatments from one device. First, the MicroDermal roller creates more than 1000 times the penetration of anti-aging ingredients deep into the dermis, where they are most effective. At the same time, the roller’s bristles stimulate the body’s natural collagen production—to plump, tighten and tone your skin through the healing process.
• Increases the effectiveness of skincare products
• Improves your skin’s texture, tone and pore size
• Smoothes acne scars
• Stimulates collagen production
• Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
We recommend that you begin use of the roller once a week for the first week, then twice the second week and three times per week on the third week of use. This gives your skin time to adapt to treatments.
1. After cleansing, apply your topical serum, lotion or prescription-grade Retin-A.
2. Gently roll MicroDermal Roller over the skin a number of times to ensure effective absorption of your products.
3. Apply additional topical product, if necessary.
4. Use cosmeceutical-grade skincare for best results.
5. Body treatments can be done at home as well.
Note: Your skin may appear slightly pinkish and tender to the touch following treatment. This is quite normal. This treatment should not cause bleeding.
As new collagen is formed you’ll start to notice more toned and tightened skin with a improved texture and pore size. With regular use (three times per week) you should start seeing results in about 4-6 weeks. For more dramatic skin resurfacing. Fraxel Laser Skin Resurfacing is the MedSpa treatment that achieves quick results over a series of sessions.
