BOTOX Cosmetic Injection Wrinkle Treatment offers individuals with dynamic wrinkles smoother skin and a natural well-rested appearance. As the years go by, facial muscles beneath the skin contract with every facial expression and eventually form "dynamic" wrinkles such as:

These “dynamic” wrinkles deepen with age and often create a terse, stressed appearance. BOTOX Cosmetic injections relax select muscle in the face and limits their ability to contract.
BOTOX Injection Treatment
BOTOX injection treatments are very simple to perform and usually take less than five minutes per facial area. Using a tiny micro-needle, a minuscule amount of an FDA-approved serum containing botulinum toxin type A, is injected very precisely into select facial muscles.
Because the needle used for the BOTOX Cosmetic injection is very thin, no sedation or local anesthetic is necessary. Comfort is enhanced by applying a topical anesthetic or an ice pack a few minutes before the BOTOX injection.
Within one week of the BOTOX injection, the treated facial muscles become temporarily relaxed, causing the overlying skin to lay flat and unwrinkled. The untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected.
Although results vary, most individual's can expect significant wrinkle reduction for about four months following a BOTOX Cosmetic injection. To maintain the desired wrinkle reduction effects, BOTOX injection treatments can and should be repeated about every four or five months. The result tends to be longer lasting with subsequent treatments.

What can be expected after a BOTOX injection?
Normal daily activities can be resumed immediately after BOTOX injections as long as an upright position is maintained. External pressure should not be applied to the area treated with BOTOX Cosmetic for four or five hours.
Are there any side effects to having BOTOX Injections?
Following BOTOX injections, some patients may experience mild bruising at the BOTOX Cosmetic injection site, or a mild headache. These conditions are temporary and gradually subside within a day or two.
In rare cases, when people do not keep their head upright, the BOTOX Cosmetic can migrate and weaken nearby muscles. This may cause the eyebrow or upper eyelid to droop. This condition is temporary and corrects itself without treatment within several weeks.
What are the alternative treatments for BOTOX Cosmetic?
At this time, the alternative to BOTOX Cosmetic injections for expression-related wrinkles is FDA-approved Dysport Wrinkle Treatment which offers similar results.
Injectable Cosmetic Fillers may be used instead of BOTOX Cosmetic to fill these wrinkles but complete removal is unlikely. BOTOX Cosmetic injection treatments, however, cannot improve age-related wrinkles, sun-damaged skin or sagging skin.
