Conventional Face Lift
A conventional Face Lift can be performed between the ages of 35 and 75. While this facial plastic surgery procedure does not stop the aging process; when performed before age 50, it may prevent individuals from developing certain signs of aging such as sagging skin under the chin and in the jowls. Face Lift surgery is often performed with Eyelid Surgery to further enhance the dramatic facial rejuvenation results.
A conventional facelift procedure involves an incision in the temple hairline extending in front of the ear and around the earlobe into the hair of the scalp. The surgeon repositions stretched muscles and tissue, and gently advances sagging skin outward, trimming the excess. In most cases, the incision heals inconspicuously and will be partially hidden by surrounding hair.
Results from a facelift are dramatic and can be seen once the swelling and bruising subside, approximately three to four weeks following the face lift surgery. Most people experience initial discomfort after the face lift surgery, but significant pain is uncommon.
Facial swelling is normal and typically lasts up to a week; bruising can be expected for three to four weeks after the facelift. It is normal for patients to experience varying degrees of desensitization or numbness which is usually temporary.
Mini Face Lift
The QuickLift Mini Face Lift, developed by The Skin Center Medical Spa's board-certified cosmetic surgeon, Dominic A. Brandy, MD, is a minimally invasive facial cosmetic surgery facelift procedure that lifts the mid to lower portion of the face and tightens the neck and jaw line.
The QuickLift Mini Face Lift is typically performed in The Skin Center Medical Spa's outpatient facility under local anesthesia or IV sedation and is completed in about an hour. For most people, this relatively quick outpatient mini facelift procedure has a lower likelihood of complications and a quicker recovery time.

FAQ's: Facelift
How long do the results from a facelift last?
Although women and men who undergo facelift surgery continue to age, a more refreshed, revitalized appearance is maintained for years to come. Many men and women are so thrilled with the results, they opt for Thermage Non-Surgical Facelift and Eyes by Thermage treatments to help prolong the skin tightening effects of the facelift surgery.
How long is the recovery period following a Face Lift ?
Face Lift surgery is an extensive surgical procedure and requires considerable healing time. Most individuals are swollen and bruised for two or two weeks following the face lift surgery, during this time the swelling subsides and bruising fades, revealing the dramatic results.
Full results from facelift surgery can be seen about three months following surgery, at which time most of the swelling has subsided and the bruising has faded away.
If recovery time is a concern, a QuickLift Mini Facelift may be suggested to tighten skin in the mid and lower facial regions with less downtime.
Are there surgical alternatives to the face lift surgery?
Individuals desiring improvement in the mid to lower face with less downtime and recovery may opt for an alternative face lift surgery procedure called a QuickLift Mini Face Lift. Eyelid Surgery is commonly performed in conjunction with the mini facelift procedure to brighten and rejuvenate the eye area.
As an alternative to facelift surgery, temporary or longer lasting Injectable Cosmetic Fillers may also be used to gently lift the face, augment cheekbones and fill depressed areas of the face including creases, folds, fine lines and wrinkles.
Are there risks associated with Cosmetic Surgery procedures?
Men and women of all ages choose cosmetic surgery for a number of reasons and the process of deciding to have elective cosmetic plastic surgery is highly individualized and very personal. This decision can offer lasting improvement not only to an individual's physical appearance, but also to their self-confidence and self-esteem. However, choosing to have any type of elective surgery, including cosmetic surgery is not without risk and potential complications.
