The Thermage Procedure
During treatment, individuals may experience tolerable sensations of warmth, followed by a cool spritzing that is delivered by the unit's hand piece before, during and after the treatment tip makes contact with the skin. The treatment generally takes 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the size of the area treated.
Following the treatment, most individuals return to their regular daily activities. Some may experience mild to moderate skin flushing, which usually subsides within an hour. Most individuals feel a slight aching along the treated area that doesn't necessitate any type of pain medication. There is no special care needed after treatment, but an effective sunscreen is recommended to prolong the result.
Results are long lasting, up to two years or more in some cases and can be seen within two months with continued improvement over four to six months.
