Cellulite Treatment

Most people think Cellulite, which commonly appears on the arms, hips, thighs and buttocks of women, is caused by being overweight. Actually, the condition is due to displaced fat and toxins that are trapped in tight fibrous bands in the dermal layer of the skin.

Although Cellulite is not curable, its dimpling appearance can be improved with Endermologie, which is a FDA-approved therapeutic treatment that increases local blood flow to the area and improves skin texture.

Endermologie® Cellulite Reduction

Endermologie®, which was first developed in France, is a noninvasive, non-surgical treatment that results in a change in the skin's texture and appearance. A patented handheld device produces a rolling and sucking motion that stimulates blood flow and gradually promotes a smoother and slimmer appearance. The treatment is most effective when combined with a healthy diet and exercise.

Endermologie treatments also help expedite the healing process after Liposuction and help enhance the overall results of the procedure. We offer a value package of Endermologie treatments to patients who undergo Liposuction at The Skin Center as a benefit with their surgery.

For more detailed information about how this procedure may benefit you, we invite you to call our office at 1-800-429-1151 to schedule a Complimentary Skin Evaluation.

Endermologie Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the best candidate for Endermologie?
The best candidate for Endermolodie is someone who is within 20 pounds of their ideal weight and follows a healthy diet and exercise program.

What is Cellulite?
Cellulite, which looks like dimpling on the surface of the skin, is caused by an accumulation of displaced fat and toxins that are trapped just beneath the surface of skin. Cellulite is not caused by being overweight; in fact many people who are in excellent physical condition have pockets of Cellulite on their arms, hips, thighs or buttocks.

How many sessions will I need before I see results?
Most people say they can begin to see results after the first month of treatment. However, two sessions a week for six to eight weeks is needed to achieve optimal results. Each treatment session lasts about an hour. Once the initial series is complete, a monthly maintenance session is recommended to maintain results.

How long do the results last?
The results of Endermologie are long-lasting as long as a healthy weight is maintained. Once you have completed the initial series of treatments, one maintenance session per month is recommended to maintain the results.

How long does a session last?
An Endermologie session typically takes about one hour. For best results, we recommend two sessions a week for six to eight weeks, followed by a monthly maintenance session.

Is Endermologie painful?
Most people find Endermologie treatments to be quite relaxing, describing the experience to a deep tissue massage. However, it is the powerful rolling and sucking motion that increases blood flow to the treatment area, helping to eliminate toxins and the appearance of Cellulite. You provider can adjust the depth of the treatment so it is comfortable for you.

Are there any side effects?
Endermologie is a non-invasive procedure; therefore side effects are virtually non-existent. The only side effect that may occur is temporary bruising at the treatment site, and even this is very uncommon.

How soon after liposuction can Endermologie be performed?
In our experience patients who undergo liposuction experience less postoperative swelling and bruising and see a final result quicker when Endermologie is performed after liposuction. Our doctors typically recommend one Endermologie treatment per week for six weeks, beginning 7-10 days after surgery.
