Frequently Asked Questions
What is Evolence®?
Evolence® is a highly purified porcine collagen product that is cross-linked with a naturally occurring sugar that the body uses as a building block to provide long-lasting results. Because the ingredients of Evolence® occur naturally in the human body, there is no longer a need for skin pre-testing as with other types of collagen dermal fillers.
Is Evolence® safe?
Yes. Evolence® is an FDA-approved dermal filler and has proven to be an effective, well-tolerated and longer-lasting treatment ideally suited for facial nasolabial folds. The product is highly purified and does not require skin testing prior to treatment.
Will I experience any discomfort during the treatment?
Although everyone responds differently to pain, most clients find the experience to be comfortable. Prior to receiving the injections, the skin is desensitized with an effective, topical anesthetic and cool packs to help alleviate any discomfort.
Will I experience any side effects from the treatment?
Side effects from Evolence® are very mild and usually include injection-related side effects such as slight redness and mild bruising. Generally, these side effects are minimal and dissipate within a few hours or days.
How often will I need to repeat the treatment?
Many patients will achieve their desired result after just one treatment. Because Evolence® supplements the body's depleted collagen, results are seen immediately. The effects of Evolence® are longer-lasting than other collagen dermal fillers, up to six months or more.
If I use other types of dermal fillers can I still use Evolence®?
Yes. Evolence® is compatible with other dermal fillers and BOTOX® Cosmetic. Your medical provider will discuss which dermal fillers are appropriate for your skin rejuvenation needs.
How much time is needed for an Evolence® treatment and can I go on with my day following the treatment?
The length of the treatment depends on the treated area. Typically the treatment is complete in less than an hour. Most people feel comfortable going back to their normal activities immediately following their appointment. Make-up may be applied a few hours after treatment.
