What is Juvéderm™?
Juvéderm™ is a smooth gel containing hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar found in the human body. Because hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the body there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction.
Is Juvéderm™ safe?
Yes. Juvéderm™ has been FDA-approved as a dermal filler and has been proven to be an effective, well-tolerated and longer-lasting treatment for facial wrinkles and folds.
In fact, same day treatment is possible because Juvéderm™ does not require skin testing.
Will I experience any discomfort during the treatment?
Although everyone responds differently to pain, most of our clients find the experience to be comfortable. Prior to receiving the injections, the treatment area is desensitized to help alleviate any discomfort.
Will I experience any side effects from the treatment?
Side effects from Juvéderm™ are mild and usually include injection-related side effects such as slight redness and mild bruising or swelling. Generally, these side effects dissipate within a few hours or days.
How often will I need to repeat the treatment?
Many patients will achieve their desired result after just one treatment. The effects of Juvéderm™ are longer-lasting than other "temporary" dermal fillers, up to a year or longer.
How much time is needed for a Juvéderm™ treatment and can I go on with my day following the treatment?
The length of the treatment depends on the treatment area. Typically the treatment is complete in less than an hour. Most people feel comfortable going back to their normal activities immediately following their appointment. Make-up may be applied a few hours after treatment if no complications are present.
