Who is a good candidate for the Luce Laser Light Therapy?
The best candidates for the Luce Laser Light Therapy are women who are just starting to experience female (or male) pattern hair loss and those who are not satisfied with the current health of their hair. With Luce treatments, hair loss progression is stabilized in 90 percent of patients and has been shown to re-grow hair in about 50 percent of patients. The Luce Laser Light also repairs and improves hair quality, making it thicker, fuller and more youthful looking.
Can the Luce Laser Light help with genetic hair loss or female pattern hair loss?
Yes. Female pattern hair loss, or androgenetic alopecia, is the most common type of hair loss in women. This type of hair loss, which presents itself as diffused hair thinning throughout the scalp, affects approximately one in every 20 women, but is most commonly seen after menopause. Luce Light Therapy may also benefit women experiencing a male form of pattern hair loss. These women may notice hair loss along the front and top of their heads. Luce Laser Light Therapy has been shown to stabilize hair loss progression in 90 percent of patients and has been shown to re-grow hair in about 50 percent of patients. The best time to treat pattern hair loss is in the early stages because much of the hair loss can be halted if treatment begins immediately.
Can the Luce Laser Light help with hair loss after childbirth?
Yes. Many women experience hair loss after childbirth, when stopping the use of certain types of birth control pills and with drastic changes in diet. Hair loss may also follow sudden physical or psychological stress to the body. Hair loss associated with these incidents is referred to as Telogen Effluvium, which occurs when a large percentage of hair follicles enter the resting phase prematurely making hair thinning noticeable. Sometimes it may be difficult to diagnose this type of hair loss as it may be delayed by up to three months after the cause. Luce treatments can be beneficial in treating Telogen Effluvium because the light helps encourage the resting follicles to enter an active growth cycle in which they will produce hair.
How many sessions will I need?
For pattern hair loss we strongly recommend a more aggressive approach and have found that two light sessions per week for six to eight weeks works well with maintenance treatments for up to a year or longer depending on the person’s initial thinning condition and the improvement that has been experienced.
When Luce Light Therapy is used in the treatment of temporary hair loss or for general hair enhancement, more conservative therapy may be suggested. The number of sessions and duration of therapy will vary based on individual situations.
Can I do anything to improve the result of my treatment?
For the most effective treatment, regardless of the cause, we recommend regular use of our copper peptide-based dr. brandy Rx deep follicle cleanser and topical enhancer. A shampoo and conditioner is also available.
