Platelet Rich Plasma Enrichment

As we age, our skin's collagen production declines - leaving our complexions less firm and less voluminous with progressive wrinkling. Today, with major advances in medical technology, a revolutionary treatment called Platelet Rich Plasma Enrichment can effectively improve the body's natural collagen production, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

Skin Enhancement

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Enrichment is an effective and biocompatible method of using the body's natural healing power in a highly concentrated manner. PRP gel, which is produced using a small amount of the client's own blood, is applied topically and infused into the dermis with a medical-grade Micro-Dermal Infusion Roller. The Infusion Roller delivers the PRP gel deep into the dermis where it activates powerful growth factors that stimulate new collagen production. The newly produced collagen begins to plump the skin and reverse the visible signs of aging.

Benefits of Platelet Rich Plasma

Improves tone, texture and pore size.

Smoothes fines lines and wrinkles.
Simulates collagen production.

Immediately following treatment, the skin will appear to be slightly sunburned for up to 48 hours with little or no associated discomfort. Within two to three weeks, most patients notice that their skin feels and appears firmer and has a healthy, vibrant glow. The total effects of the treatment are seen in up to three months, as new collagen production continues to improve the overall appearance of the dermis.

Hair Restoration Enhancement

When PRP Gel is used during hair transplantation procedures, we've noticed improvement both in wound healing and hair re-growth. At the time of surgery, the patients' PRP gel is produced and the soon-to-be-transplanted hair grafts are bathed in the gel, which contains powerful platelet derived growth factors. Through clinical observation, we've found that hair grafts that have been bathed in PRP gel, have a higher survival rate, resulting in a fuller result. During the hair transplant process, the donor incision is drenched with the same PRP gel, which seems to expedite the healing process and can minimize any visible scarring.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who should is a good candidate for a PRP Enrichment?
We have seen the best results with PRP Enrichment when the treatments are performed on normal to dry, mature photo-aged skin. The treatment is ideal for individuals looking for gradual but noticeable improvement in skin texture and minimal downtime. PRP Enrichment may be used on all hair transplantation patients regardless of age or degree of hair loss.

What can I expect during a PRP Gel Treatment?
The PRP gel treatment is a two-step treatment. After a small amount of blood is taken from the client to produce the PRP gel, the skin is prepped with thorough cleansing and an exfoliating treatment. Once this important preparation is complete, the PRP gel is applied and a medical-grade Micro-Dermal Infusion Roller is used to create microscopic channels that allows the PRP gel to penetrate deep into the skin where it is most effective.

How many treatments will I need?
After having one PRP treatment, most clients are anxious to schedule another. It is important to keep in mind, however, the improvement experienced with PRP Enrichment is gradual -- over a three month period, therefore, we recommend that patients wait three or four months before having a subsequent treatment.

What can I expect after a PRP gel treatment?
Your skin will appear to be sunburned and may be very slightly swollen for up to 24 hours or longer. If you'd like to apply makeup, we suggest that you wait 48 hours after treatment and we strongly recommend Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup which is available at all Skin Center Medical Spa location and through some larger online retailers.

What type of aftercare does a PRP gel treatment require?
After your treatment, it is important to keep your skin thoroughly hydrated and to apply an 30 SPF (or greater) sunscreen multiple times a day during the summer months.
