How does SMARTLipo™ work?
A paperclip-thin probe approximately 1-2mm in diameter containing a laser fiber is inserted beneath the skin. The probe is moved back and forth delivering the laser's energy to the fat cells, causing them to rupture and easily drain away. The laser energy also interacts with the dermis it resulting in collagen shrinkage.

SMARTLipo™ is a minimally invasive treatment and can be performed under local anesthesia. The laser causes small blood vessels to coagulate immediately on contact, resulting in less bleeding, swelling and bruising, - and a quicker recovery time than conventional liposuction.

Who is a good candidate for SMARTLipo™?
If you have areas of fat that will not respond to diet and exercise, you're probably a candidate for SMARTLipo™. Ideal candidates are in good health, of normal body weight and have realistic expectations for the results.

What areas of the body can be treated with SMARTLipo™?
SMARTLipo™ is most effective in treating small areas of localized fat on the face, neck, arms, back, waist, abs, hips, thighs, and knees. Also because of its skin tightening effect, there may also be a benefit of SMARTLipo™ in conjunction with conventional liposuction on larger areas of the body.

How many treatments will I need?
For most patients, typically only one treatment is required. The session may last from 45 minutes to one hour for each area treated.

Do I have to do anything post-treatment?
After the treatment you may experience minimal swelling and bruising. We recommend 1-2 days without vigorous activity but most patients are able to return to work immediately depending on their occupation.

Does SMARTLipo™ treat cellulite?
The treatment can improve the body's shape and may improve cellulite to a certain degree.

When can I expect to see results?
Results can be seen immediately with continued improvement over several weeks.

Are the results long lasting?
Yes. Adults do not "regenerate" new fat cells. Fat cells are permanently removed during a SMARTLipo™ treatment. Afterwards, if people gain weight, most fat will be deposited in other areas of the body.
