How does the Thermage™ CPT Nonsurgical Facelift work?
The Thermage™ CPT Nonsurgical Facelift was developed by the Thermage® Corporation to tighten aging skin on the face, gently lift the forehead for a more rejuvenated appearance, and redefine contours along the jaw line and under the chin with just one treatment and no downtime.

This proprietary FDA-approved technology uses radiofrequency energy to warm and stimulate the fibroblasts in the dermis while keeping the skin's surface cool. This process promotes the contraction of the existing collagen fibers and stimulates new collagen growth. The end result is a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance with no downtime.

What can I expect the day of the treatment?
Prior to your Thermage CPT Nonsurgical Facelift, your Thermage specialist will discuss your treatment in detail. A mild oral sedative may be administered before your session to help ensure the experience is pleasant and optimal results are achieved. With this in mind, you may need to arrange for transportation home. A topical gel anesthetic will be applied to the area 30 minutes prior to your treatment for enhanced comfort.

During your treatment, you may experience tolerable sensations of warmth, followed by cool spritzing that is delivered by the unit's hand piece before, during and after the treatment tip makes contact with your skin. You will be completely aware during your visit and can converse casually with your Thermage specialist. The treatment generally takes 30 to 45 minutes.

Following treatment, most individuals return to their regular daily activities once the effect of the sedative diminishes. Some may experience mild to moderate skin flushing, which usually subsides within an hour. Most individuals feel a slight aching along the treated area that doesn't necessitate any type of pain medication. There is no special care needed after treatment, but an effective sunscreen is recommended to prolong the result.

What kind of result can I expect from the treatment and how long will it last?
The degree of skin tightening varies from person to person. Your age, skin condition and degree of skin laxity will determine the outcome. Some of our clients have seen improvement within two weeks with continued improvement over four to six months.

To date, some studies indicate that improvement lasts up to two years; other studies show that thermal collagen changes can last several years depending on the rate of the aging process.
