The Thermage™ CPT Nonsurgical Facelift is often performed with Eyes by Thermage CPT, which is a nonsurgical eyelift or eyelid treatment that rejuvenates and brightens the face by tightening and toning the eyelids, reducing hooding and improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and crows feet. Body by Thermage CPT is also performed at The Skin Center Medical Spa in Pittsburgh with a larger 16 centimeter tip for maximum skin tightening and skin toning. Commonly treated areas include the arms, hands, abdomen, buttocks, thighs and knees. To learn more about the Thermage CPT Nonsurgical Facelift, the most advanced non invasive skin tightening treatment available today, call The Skin Center Medical Spa at 1.800.429.1151. We invite you to schedule a free full-face skin evaluation at our Wexford, Mt Lebanon or Shadyside locations in the Pittsburgh area. Frequently Asked QuestionsHow does the Thermage™ CPT Nonsurgical Facelift work? This proprietary FDA-approved technology uses radiofrequency energy to warm and stimulate the fibroblasts in the dermis while keeping the skin's surface cool. This process promotes the contraction of the existing collagen fibers and stimulates new collagen growth. The end result is a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance with no downtime. What can I expect the day of the treatment? During your treatment, you may experience tolerable sensations of warmth, followed by cool spritzing that is delivered by the unit's hand piece before, during and after the treatment tip makes contact with your skin. You will be completely aware during your visit and can converse casually with your Thermage specialist. The treatment generally takes 30 to 45 minutes. Following treatment, most individuals return to their regular daily activities once the effect of the sedative diminishes. Some may experience mild to moderate skin flushing, which usually subsides within an hour. Most individuals feel a slight aching along the treated area that doesn't necessitate any type of pain medication. There is no special care needed after treatment, but an effective sunscreen is recommended to prolong the result. What kind of result can I expect from the treatment and how long will it last? To date, some studies indicate that improvement lasts up to two years; other studies show that thermal collagen changes can last several years depending on the rate of the aging process. It is important to keep in mind that this treatment does not stop the aging process. Gravity will continue to take its toll on your skin, causing natural skin laxity over time. Who is a candidate for the Thermage CPT Nonsurgical Facelift? The Thermage™ CPT Nonsurgical Facelift is one of the few nonsurgical treatments available today that offers gradual skin tightening and firming to varying degrees without surgery and without downtime. Individuals who are interested in a more immediate or more dramatic result may want to consider a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure at The Skin Center. The QuickLIFT®, which was developed by our founding medical director and board-certified cosmetic surgeon, Dominic Brandy, MD, is commonly performed on women and men who want to instantly tighten loose and sagging skin in the mid to lower region of the face. The QuickLIFT can offer dramatic improvement in some individuals, often erasing up to ten years from their appearance. Does the Thermage CPT technology treat age spots or other skin discoloration?
