VascuLight® Laser Vein Therapy
Spider veins and varicose veins are caused by abnormal blood flow and weakening of the blood vessel wall in the affected veins. Any condition or activity that puts pressure on the veins -- such as gaining weight, crossing legs, and sitting or standing for prolong periods, can contribute to their development.

VascuLight® Laser Vein Therapy is becoming a popular noninvasive method of vein removal for individuals with spider veins and varicose veins. This revolutionary technology eliminates veins from the face and body using the principle of selective photothermolysis, which uses heat energy from Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology to selectively target abnormal veins while leaving the health surrounding skin undisturbed.
In some cases, Sclerotherapy vein treatment may be performed in conjunction with VascuLight® Laser Therapy for optimal skin clearing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who should consider VascuLight® Laser Vein Therapy?
VascuLight® Laser Vein Therapy is beneficial for men and women who would like to have their spider veins treated. Spider veins are small clusters of thin veins just under the surface of the skin that can appear and be treated at any age. Most commonly, people in their late 20's and beyond seek treatment for this condition.
What is the difference between VascuLight® Laser Vein Therapy and Sclerotherapy?
VascuLight® Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes gentle pulsed light to weaken and eventually collapse the affected veins. Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes a very fine needle to inject a mild solution in to the veins, causing them to weaken and eventually collapse. Each treatment can be equally beneficial in correcting spider veins and often the two treatments are combined to achieve the desired results. Your nurse will discuss both treatment options with you and will determine which treatment would be most effective in correcting your veins.
What can I expect during a VascuLight® Laser Vein Therapy Treatment?
A typical VascuLight® Laser Therapy treatment can last from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the treatment area. At the beginning of your treatment, your nurse will explain the procedure to you and the type of results you can expect. She will take photographs of your legs before treatment for your medical files. Then you will be asked to lay on the examination table and the skin over the spider veins will be cleansed to remove any oils present on the skin. Your provider will begin treatment by using a hand-held devise that will deliver gentle pulsed light to the affect veins.
During the treatment, you may feel a slight stinging sensation similar to that of a rubber band being snapped on the skin. The sensation is brief and considered to be very mild. Once the treatment is complete, your nurse will apply an antibiotic ointment to the treated area.
After each treatment, the veins will continue to lighten. Generally, more than one treatment is required to achieve the desired results.
How long will it take to recover from VascuLight® Laser Vein Therapy?
VascuLight® Laser Vein Therapy is a non- invasive, gentle procedure with virtually no down time. Most people are able to return to work and resume most activities immediately following treatment. You many experience some redness and slight swelling at the treated area, which will dissipate in a few days. The veins will begin to darken and then gradually fade away within 5 - 10 days.
Will I experience any discomfort during the VascuLight® Laser Vein Therapy?
