Frequently Asked Questions
Who is a good candidate for the Vitalize Peel™?
Anyone with dry, dull drab skin, who would like to brighten his or her complexion with very minimal downtime, is a good candidate for the Vitalize Peel™. Individuals with fine to moderate wrinkles, age spots, pigmentation problems or sun-damaged skin will benefit from two or more peels over a designated period of time. The peel cannot be performed on pregnant women.
Is there any discomfort associated with the Vitalize Peel™?
Most of our clients feel a mild tingling or warming sensation for a few minutes while the solution is applied. Although they don’t describe it as uncomfortable, they do appreciate our holding a fan for a more cooling effect. Once the peel is completed, you should no longer feel the warm, tingling sensation.
How long does it take to have a Vitalize Peel™?
From start to finish, the entire treatment should take approximately 30 minutes.
How much downtime should I expect?
Most people leave with healthy, glowing skin. Some experience redness, which can easily be camouflaged with make-up. Most daily activities can be resumed immediately. Within 48 hours of the Vitalize Peel™, your skin will begin to mildly flake. The flaking process is normal and can easily be controlled with an effective moisturizer. Ask your treatment specialist for a recommendation.
Will I need more than one Vitalize Peel™?
Most people see noticeable improvement in their skin after just one Vitalize Peel™. However, a series of treatments performed at 3-week intervals provides the most dramatic improvement in skin texture and color uniformity.
Can I have the Vitalize Peel™ if I’ve had other skin treatments?
Absolutely. People who have had other types of light peels are perfect candidates for the Vitalize Peel™ because their skin has been somewhat "preconditioned" for the treatment. By thoroughly exfoliating the epidermis, the Vitalize Peel actually can help make other skin treatments more effective.
