Fredric Jarrett, MD, FACS, FRCSC
Pittsburgh, PA

Dr. Fredric Jarrett is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general surgery and vascular surgery. He is also board certified in general surgery by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada.

After completing his undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College, Dr. Jarrett continued his education at Dartmouth Medical School where he earned a Bachelor of Medical Science degree, and Harvard Medical School where he received his MD cum laude. He completed his surgical residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and was chief resident at Saint Lucas Ziekenhaus in Amsterdam, Holland.

Dr. Jarrett has served as president of the Allegheny Vascular Society, the Eastern Vascular Society and the Southwest Pennsylvania chapter of the American College of Surgeons. He has also been elected to membership in the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, the Royal Society of Medicine in the United Kingdom, the Dutch Surgical Society and the vascular societies in North America having selective membership.

As a  leader in his field, Dr. Jarrett received a National Leadership Award and was named Physician of the Year by the NRCC.  He is also listed in the Directory of Physicians in the United States, Web MD, ABMS Directory of Board Medical Specialists, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and the Guide to America's Top Surgeons.

Dr. Jarrett currently offers services in both vascular and general surgery with special interests in hernia repair, open laparoscopic abdominal surgery, complex wound healing problems, arterial surgery and varicose vein surgery. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 scientific publications in general and vascular surgery, and has served as a visiting professor in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Spain, and the Netherlands.

Jack Bergstein, MD, FACS
Pittsburgh, PA

Jack Bergstein, MD, FACS, is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in surgical critical care. He is currently a general surgeon with Southwest Surgical Healthcare in Waynesburg, PA, specializing in general surgery, vascular surgery, laparoscopic surgery, trauma surgery and surgical critical care.

Dr. Bergstein earned both his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Minnesota. He continued his medical studies by completing his residencies at the University of Minnesota and Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Discovering a passion for surgery, Dr. Bergstein completed his fellowship training in trauma and surgical critical care at Lincoln Medical & Mental Health Center in Bronx, NY.

Having achieved numerous professional honors, most notably the opportunity to become an Approved Trauma Surgeon for President of the United States, George H.W. Bush and Clinton administrations (Capital Program, ACS-COT), Dr. Bergstein is recognized as a distinguished leader in his field. Dr. Bergstein has authored or co-authored more than 75 scientific publications, as well as a $750,000 National Institute of Health grant. He has held numerous national positions in trauma and critical care-related scientific and philanthropic organizations, and has presented numerous scientific and educational presentations to his professional colleagues and peers.

Marios Panayides, MD, FACS
Columbus, Ohio

Marios Panayides, MD, FACS, is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, specializing in general, thoracic and vascular surgery, and is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

After moving to the United States in 1962, Dr. Panayides enrolled at Youngstown University and earned his undergraduate degree, graduating magna cum laude. He then enrolled at St. Louis University, where he received his Medical Degree. Dr. Panayides went on to complete his postgraduate training, including his straight surgical internship and residency in general surgery, at the University of Cincinnati Medical School. Immediately following his residency, Dr. Panayides joined Surgical Associates of Springfield, Inc., and has remained with them since. Currently, he is president of the group.

Through the years, Dr. Panayides has been active in teaching medical students at Wright State University, and has participated in several educational programs designed to promote the medical field. He continues to serve as an Associate Clinical Professor at Wright State University School of Medicine.

As a member of Surgical Associates of Springfield, Inc., Dr. Panayides specializes in general, vascular and thoracic surgery. He takes pride in the fact that he as been serving Springfield and Clark County for the last 32 years with dedication, compassion and expertise.
