Skin Care Tip
The most important skin care tip I can offer my clients is to STOP over-plucking your eyebrows, ladies! Over-plucking your brows damages the growth of the hair, that’s why many women today have very thin and sparse eyebrows. Waxing your brows isn’t any better than plucking. The best way to get a perfect brow without damaging the hair growth is eyebrow threading.
Favorite Med Spa Treatment
My favorite medical spa treatment is permanent makeup. I especially love creating full and natural-looking eyebrows with a new technique called “feathering”. With the feathering technique I am able to create permanent brows that actually look like the naturally growing hair. The result is super natural, youthful brows and even better – it’s one less step in the morning…no more filling in your eyebrows!
My Top 3 Client FAQs
- Does the tattooing of permanent maekup hurt?
- Will my natural lashes be damaged if I do extensions?
- How long do the results last?
My Favorite Client Transformation Stories
I was training in Los Angeles at Elite Permanent Makeup and I had a client who came in and had no eyebrows — and I mean no eyebrows! She did not even have little baby hairs; she was completely hairless along her brow bone. She told me she started plucking at a young age and eventually her eyebrows just never grew back. She expressed how she hated her appearance and that she felt unattractive. She was far from unattractive, but missing a pretty significant feature on your face could certainly make a person feel that way.
I told her how we could create a totally natural-looking eyebrow for her – and better yet, she would leave today with eyebrows! We spent some time looking for the perfect shape and color for her and then I went to work. When I was finished, I asked what she thought of her new eyebrows. She started to cry! She said she was so happy that she had eyebrows again and she was so pleased with my technique, too! She could not believe that her “new” eyebrows were so natural looking and not noticeably tattooed! This is my job, and I love it! I love seeing people happy; because it makes me happy, too.
What I Love Most About My Work
The Skin Center is an amazing place to work, but what makes it so special are the people who work here, and our clients, too. I look forward to going to work because every day I know I’m going to help someone feel better about themselves – it may be with a permanent makeup application, lash or brow extensions or a chemical peel or skin treatment – whatever it is my client leaves feeling better – and that is a wonderful thing. Plus, every single staff member is a true professional who cares very much about each and every client who walks through the door – what more can you ask for!
