Sculptra FAQs
  • How does Sculptra compare to other injectable treatments?

Unlike wrinkle relaxers such as Botox, which soften dynamic lines and wrinkles, or dermal fillers, which provide immediate volume and contour, Sculptra works by gradually stimulating your body’s natural collagen production to restore facial structure over time.

Radiesse is also a collagen biostimulator but offers a dual benefit: it provides volume while also stimulating collagen production for continued improvement.

During your consultation, your provider will discuss the differences between Sculptra and Radiesse, recommend the best option for your concerns, and create a personalized treatment plan to achieve natural-looking results.

  • How many Sculptra injections will I need?

Most patients will need one vial of Sculptra per side of their face. Some patients may need less, and some may need more. It will depend on the surface area of the patient’s face, the desired areas being treated, as well as the age of the patient.

  • When will I start to see results?

A few days post-treatment, you will look the same as you did before the treatment. This is because the injected water will be absorbed, leaving the Sculptra particles behind to stimulate your collagen to grow. Results appear gradually over a few months.

  • How long will the results last?

At 3 months post-treatment, results will be at 33% potential. By 6 months, patients will see the full treatment potential. These results can last up to 2 years.

  • What is the post-treatment care for Sculptra?

To evenly distribute Sculptra post-treatment, patients should massage the area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days following the treatment.

  • How much does Sculptra Cost?

Sculptra pricing at The Skin Center starts at $925 per treatment session. For patients seeking more comprehensive volume restoration, package pricing begins at approximately $1,500 for two vials, with increasing discounts for additional vial packages.

Because every patient’s aesthetic goals are unique, the final cost will depend on the number of treatments and vials recommended. We also offer seasonal promotions and specials as well as The Skin Center’s Loyalty program that may help reduce your overall investment.

Things to Keep In Mind for Treatment

  1. Come to your appointment without makeup on the area to be treated, as this helps reduce the risk of infection and allows the practitioner to work on a clean surface.
  2. No dental work 2 weeks prior to treatment, even if your dental work is as simple as a routine cleaning.
  3. No vaccines or medical procedures 2 weeks prior to treatment.

  1. Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days following your treatment. Massage allows the Sculptra particles to develop collagen evenly under your skin.
  2. Refrain from exercise for 72 hours (about 3 days) post-treatment.
  3. Avoid excessive heat and sun exposure for 72 hours (about 3 days) post-treatment, as heat can promote bruising and swelling.
  4. Consider sleeping with your head slightly elevated and on your back if you want to decrease swelling in the treatment area.
