We are a leading medical spa in the nation, with licensed clinicians who are known for their experience. Our expert injectors specialize in custom results to help you achieve the most natural-looking results.

Lip filler is a treatment that adds volume, enhances lip definition, and increases hydration and smoothness of the lip. We use a dermal filler, most of which are gels made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance already found in our bodies. It is also flexible, so your lips will look natural when you smile or talk.

"It was my first time getting lip fillers, so I was very nervous and had lots of questions. Brittany did an amazing job, taking her time and explaining everything to me even if I had a stupid question lol. I love my lips and get so many compliments on them! I will definitely be going back soon!!"

Kylie S., Cranberry, PA

"It was my first time getting lip filler and I had a really wonderful experience! Everyone was so helpful and made me feel really comfortable from walking in the door. Sara did the actual filler and I can only say amazing things. I was nervous about it being my first time, but Sara went above and beyond to make me feel relaxed and educated about the whole overall experience. Everything turned out wonderful. Definitely a 5/5 experience and was super satisfied. Also, beautiful space and interior! Loved it."

Discover our filler types

Lip filler is not one size fits all. The Skin Center customizes each patients’ treatment plan to fit their unique needs. Learn more about each type of filler we offer:

Juvederm

Juvederm fillers are created by Allergan, the makers of Botox. Juvéderm formulation has a smooth, gel-like consistency with larger particles that target more deeply into the skin to treat lip volume loss.

Restylane

The Restylane® family of facial fillers can effectively replace volume that diminishes as we age. Restylane products are granular and more cohesive, allowing it to stay where it is initially injected.

Revance

With the Revance RHA Collection, experience an innovative approach to hyaluronic acid treatment that delivers exceptionally natural-looking results. The distinct manufacturing process behind the RHA Collection of dermal fillers enables us to skillfully smooth dynamic facial lines while preserving the natural range of facial movements.

Lip filler treatment pairings

In some patients, the muscles that control movement in the upper lip contract in a way that lifts the lip higher than desired and exposes more of the gums. Lip filler can be paired with Botox in a treatment referred to as a Botox lip flip, which relaxes the muscle that controls movement of the upper lip and reduces the look of a gummy smile.

Lip filler can also be paired with permanent makeup offerings, like lip blushing, to enhance the lips’ natural color and give a more defined lip line.

FAQs

Lip Filler 101

What is Lip filler?

Most dermal fillers consist of gel formulations containing hyaluronic acid, a naturally existing substance vital for retaining moisture in tissues, joints, and eyes. Allergic reactions are exceedingly rare due to its natural presence in the body. Its flexibility allows your lips to maintain a natural look even during expressions like smiling or speaking. Your clinician will assist you in choosing the perfect filler to meet your goals, guaranteeing the most pleasing and authentic results.

Are lip fillers safe?

While lip fillers generally offer safe and effective results, it's important to be aware of the possible risks associated with the procedure, including site infection, scarring, allergic reactions, or blocked blood vessels. At The Skin Center, we maintain the strictest safety protocols to minimize any potential side effects and to deliver safe and natural-looking results.

Which lip fillers are available at The Skin Center?

At The Skin Center, our clinicians have the widest range of filler types to choose from to create exceptional, customized results. Popular fillers include Juvederm, Juvederm Ultra XC, Juvederm Volbella, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Restylane Silk, and Restylane Lyft.

How long is the recovery period after lip injections?

Post-injection, you might notice redness and slight swelling at the treated areas, but this shouldn't disrupt your regular routine. However, it's advisable to postpone intense physical activities for a day to allow the filler to properly settle.

How should I care for the treated area post-injection?

After your procedure, there might be a bit of redness or bruising at the injection site. This can be easily camouflaged with makeup or foundation after 24 hours. While you can get back to your usual routine right after the session, it's advisable to stay upright until you go to bed. We also suggest holding off on any strenuous activities for the next 24 hours. Additionally, try to avoid putting pressure on the freshly treated area for approximately five hours following the procedure.

When will I see results?

One of the most-loved things about lip filler is that it delivers instant results. However, directly following treatment patients may experience slight swelling to the injected areas. This may last up to two weeks and at that time you will seel the true results of the treatment.

How long will results last?

Lip filler lasts anywhere from six months to a year. This number may vary depending on a few factors including your metabolism and the filler type. Our clinicians will choose from a variety of different types of dermal fillers that will match the patients’ exact needs and the look they are trying to achieve.

How much lip filler will I need?

This will depend on the patient’s starting lip shape and fullness compared to the results they are trying to achieve. We offer perfect pout pricing, which is a base rate for the most common amounts used for lip filler - a half syringe and a full syringe.
