What is Emsculpt Neo?

Emsculpt Neo uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology energy (HIFEM) and radiofrequency to burn off fat and build up muscle mass. Think of it as a challenging workout while you’re laying back and relaxing. The emitted energies cause the targeted muscles to contract at a rate and intensity greater than what can be achieved during a regular workout, which is why this technology is effective. Each Emsculpt Neo session is equivalent to about 30,000 crunches in 30 minutes. The complete treatment plan (usually four sessions) equates to 12 to 16 weeks of high-intensity interval training.

How does Emsculpt Neo work?

Emsculpt Neo has advanced applicators that emit synchronized radiofrequency and HIFEM energies to eliminate fat and build muscle mass. The heat from the radiofrequency raises the temperature of your muscles to prepare them for contractions, similar to a pre-workout warm-up. It also increases the temperature of the targeted fat cells to the point at which they experience apoptosis, or cell death, and are then metabolized and eliminated via your body’s natural waste removal process. At the same time, HIFEM+ energy causes the targeted muscle fibers to contract rapidly and intensely, building muscle mass to improve strength and tone. Many clients enjoy the benefits of chemical peels to simply clarify, brighten and polish the skin while other clients may choose a series of stronger chemical peels to improve more severe freckling, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring and age-related facial lines and wrinkles.

    Emsculpt Neo provides three benefits: fat elimination, muscle building, and skin tightening. CoolSculpting Elite was specifically developed to reduce fat and clinically proven to eliminate up to 30% of the fat in a treated area. Both CoolSculpting Elite and EmSculpt Neo can be used together to achieve your ideal results.

  • What should I expect during an Emsculpt Neo treatment?

    You’ll be lying down as your body sculpting specialist secures the Emsculpt Neo paddles against the targeted areas (on bare skin) using a wide, comfortable strap. Once in place, the radio frequency and HIFEM+ therapies begin to work while you relax for 30 minutes.

  • Is Emsculpt Neo painful?

    The Emsculpt Neo treatment feels similar to what you would feel like during a targeted workout. Most patients experience rapid muscle contractions and a heating sensation in the treated area, comparable to a hot stone massage. This treatment is very tolerable and not painful. The intensity varies on your muscle strength and can always be adjusted if needed.

  • How many treatments will I need?

    A series of four treatments, each five to ten days apart, are recommended from the start. After you have completed the four sessions, monthly treatments are typically recommended to maintain results. The ongoing treatment plan will vary depending on the patient’s desired results. Emsculpt Neo offers several treatment options specifically designed to treat various parts of the body and different concerns: muscle toning, skin tightening, and/or fat reduction.

  • How long does it take to see results?

    You’ll start to see and feel a difference after your first Emsculpt Neo treatment, but optimal results are typically seen 30 days after your four- treatment series.

  • What is the recovery like after Emsculpt Neo?

    Most patients return to their normal activities immediately following their Emsculpt Neo treatment. It is not uncommon to feel sore for about 12 to 24 hours after treatment. Since this treatment is targeted and induces 30,000 contractions in the treated area, you should give the treated muscle groups time to recover. We don’t recommend working out the same muscles within 24 hours of treatment, before or after.

  • Is Emsculpt Neo right for me?

    The ideal candidate for Emsculpt Neo body sculpting is an individual who is at or near their ideal weight and is struggling to strengthen and tone targeted areas of their body. Emsculpt Neo is not a weight loss solution and is not appropriate for people with a BMI over 35. Also, Emsculpt Neo cannot be performed on a person who is pregnant, has a copper IUD, hearing implants, or piercings that cannot be removed.

    Emsculpt Neo treatments are approximately $500 per session. Patients who purchase a treatment package can receive 15% off, helping reduce the overall cost of treatment.

Things to Keep In Mind for Treatment

  1. Drink plenty of water 24 hours leading up to treatment.  
  2. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting, clothing that allows for flexibility to ensure correct positioning.
  3. You must not wear any metallic accessories such as jewelry, watches or clothes containing metallic threads during the treatment.   
  4. You must not have any metallic or electronic implants such as pacemakers, defibrillators, metallic IUDs, etc.
