Things to Keep In Mind for Treatment

  1. Avoid alcohol and smoking 24 hours before Botox treatment to minimize bruising from the procedure.
  2. Avoid taking blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or vitamin E for about a week prior to your treatment.
  3. No vaccines, medical procedures, or dental work 2 weeks prior to treatment (even if your dental work is as simple as a routine cleaning).
  4. Please notify your provider if you are currently on or have recently taken any antibiotics, as certain medications can affect treatment results.
  5. Botox treatments are not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding patients.
  1. Do not lie down and minimize bending over for the next 4 hours.
  2. Refrain from manipulating/massaging the treated areas for 48-hours post-treatment, unless otherwise instructed by your provider.
  3. Refrain from strenuous exercise for 72 hours (about 3 days) post-treatment.
  4. Dermal Filler results start to appear immediately following treatment but Botox may take up to two weeks to fully set in.
  5. Refrain from makeup for 48 hours. Gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and mineral sunscreen are recommended.

  • What is the downtime associated with Facial Balancing?

    The downtime associated with Facial Balancing is minimal. Most people can continue with their daily routine. However, there may be some mild bruising and swelling at the injection areas that will dissipate in the hours and days following treatment.

  • How long do the results from Facial Balancing last?

    Because Facial Balancing uses different products, the duration of each product will vary. The results from Botox will typically last about 3 months, while dermal fillers last approximately 6-12 months. To maintain the results, Botox treatments will need to be maintained more frequently than dermal fillers.

  • Are there any side effects from Facial Balancing?

    The side effects from Botox may include mild bruising, redness, or a mild headache following treatment, which typically subsides within a day or two. In rare cases, when patients do not keep their head upright for the recommended four hours after treatment, Botox may migrate and affect adjacent muscles—this may cause temporary drooping of the eyebrow or upper eyelid that resolves within several weeks.

    Recovery from Dermal Fillers is generally minimal, with possible temporary side effects like swelling, redness, and bruising. Most individuals return to their normal activities immediately following the procedure.
