PCA body peel

Available in Pittsburgh, PA, Columbus, OH, and Cleveland, OH

What is PCA body peel?

Available in our med spas located in Pittsburgh, PA,  Columbus, OH, and Cleveland, OH, the prescription-grade PCA chemical peel for the body can help your body look as radiant and as ageless as your face. Ideal for treating acne outbreaks on the body, improving skin tone and texture and fading sun spots, freckles and unclogging pores.

A chemical peel for the body is most commonly performed on:

  • Arms
  • Legs
  • Back
  • Chest
  • Hands
  • Feet

What is a PCA body peel treatment like?

The PCA chemical peel for the body is appropriate for first-time body chemical peel clients or those looking for a gentle, superficial chemical peel to polish and brighten their skin.

The two-step body peel treatment is formulated with potent ingredients that deeply exfoliate, and improve skin tone and texture while lightening any skin discoloration.

First, the skin is prepped with a soothing conditioning mask to help hydrate and soften skin. Then the concentrated chemical peel solution is applied. The chemical peel ingredients may include:

  • TCA
  • Lactic acid
  • Kojic acid
  • Arbutin
  • Hydroquinone
  • Resourcina

Treatment information

While a single PCA peel treatment may help brighten the skin for a special occasion, a series of four treatments spaced two to three weeks apart, can help improve the appearance of more mature, photo-damaged skin by offering deeper exfoliation and skin brightening and toning with no residual peeling or downtime.

Is the PCA chemical peel painful?

Most people experience a mild to moderate warming sensation for a few minutes while the solution is being applied and for as long as it remains on the skin. For enhanced comfort, a hand-held fan may be held over the treated area to help cool the feeling of warmth. However, once the chemical body peel is complete, the warming sensation goes away.

How many chemical peels will I need to see results?

Just one chemical peel for the body can help clarify, exfoliate and brighten the skin. However, the best results are achieved after a series of three or four chemical peel treatments. To maintain results, it is recommended that monthly chemicals peels are performed to the area being retreated.

After my chemical peel will my skin be more sensitive to the sun?

Yes. Once your skin has been deeply exfoliated, fresh, healthy skin is revealed; this new skin will be more susceptible to the sun. To prevent sun damage and to maintain the results of your chemical peel, it is recommended that sunscreen is applied daily.
