Dominic Brandy, MD, is a board-certified cosmetic surgeon with 25 years experience as a leader in advanced cosmetic surgery and anti-aging skincare. He is the founder and medical director of The Skin Center Medical Spa, the tri-state’s most established medical facility devoted exclusively to surgical and non-surgical cosmetic enhancement.

Dr. Brandy is dedicated to creating breakthrough surgical and non-surgical rejuvenation treatments. First by developing and refining some of the most effective techniques for restoring natural growing hair, Dr. Brandy is now regarded as a preeminent authority on hair loss evaluation and treatment. Currently, Dr. Brandy's innovative QuickLift™ procedure has attracted the interest of both patients and doctors from across the country and around the world. Three times a year, Dr. Brandy hosts a QuickLift™ Live Surgery Workshop at The Skin Center Medical Spa in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania for physicians interested in learning how to perform the procedure themselves.

Through the years, Dr. Brandy has authored more than 70 published medical articles on cosmetic enhancement procedures in prominent journals such as the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery, Cosmetic Dermatology and the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery, has contributed chapters to eight aesthetic surgery textbooks as well as authored his own book on hair replacement treatments. Dr. Brandy has shared his expertise in the field of cosmetic enhancement and hairloss treatment with his peers by lecturing at over 100 national and international meetings. Considered an authority in his field, Dr. Brandy is frequently approached by the news media as an expert and has been referenced in hundreds of consumer newspapers and magazines, including Redbook, Cosmopolitan and Men's Health.

Dr. Brandy is board certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, and serves as an instructor in the fellowship program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine’s Department of Dermatology. His life long commitment to surgical innovations, and his skill and artistry have distinguished him as a leader in the field.

Dr. Akbar G. Matadar, Associate Medical Director
The Skin Center Medical Spa, Pittsburgh, PA

Akbar.G. Matadar, MD, F.A.C.S., received his board certification from the American Board of Otolaryngology in 1975. Having earned his medical degree from the University of Bombay, Bombay, India, Dr. Matadar went on to complete his Residency in General Surgery, Otolaryngology and Internal Medicine from same institution. Moving to the United States in 1970, Dr. Matadar excelled at his surgical internship at Upstate Medical University, State University of New York and went on to successfully complete his Residency and Teaching Fellowship in Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and School of Medicine.

Over the past thirty years, Dr. Matadar has held such positions as Chairperson of the Department of Surgery at the Weirton Medical Center located in Weirton, WV and member of the Medical Staff Executive Committee for Weirton Medical Center. In the mid 1990s, Dr. Matadar became acquainted with Dr. Brandy, and since that time has played an integral role at The Skin Center Medical Spa where he serves as Associate Medical Director. His keen sense of aesthetics and outstanding bedside manner have served him well in establishing awareness in the medical community and in maintaining very loyal patients.

Dr. Fernando Colon, Associate Medical Director
The Skin Center Medical Spa, Columbus, OH

Dr. Fernando Colon is a board-certified plastic surgeon with nearly 15 years experience performing plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive procedures. Dr. Colon brings to The Skin Center Medical Spa, from his affiliations with Mount Carmel Medical Center and Genesis Cosmetic Surgery Center, the latest advancements and skills in plastic and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Colon has also trained extensively with Dominic Brandy, MD, board certified cosmetic surgeon and developer of the QuickLift™.

Dr. Colon attended the University of Central Del Este Medical School in the Dominican Republic. Having excelled at his general surgery residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Colon went on to complete his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. During his residency at Wayne State University, Dr. Colon worked with some of the country’s most prestigious plastic surgery institutions including Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital, Kressge Eye Institute and Wayne State University.

Over the years, he has earned the reputation of exceeding his patients' expectations by offering the finest results in the field of cosmetic surgery. Dr. Colon is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and since 1995, has been an active member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. In April 2003, he was re-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons for plastic and reconstructive surgery of the face and body.
